Le Corbusier imagined a very idealistic form of living, however I feel sameness labels him incorrectly. More appropriately, he wished to prescribe housing a formula, which could be altered and cater to the essential needs of the user. Looking at all the domino houses, there are many differences which I feel counter the notion of sameness.
It seems that Corbusier thought of all architecture the same way. He thought of the building as a machine, and so he liked "sameness" in architecture. I feel that an architect's personal style or beliefs should reflect in their architecture and produce a quality of "sameness" throughout their work, but then again, it might be strange for an architect to design a house the same way as he designs a museum, or a gas station or anything else.
