My Project
The primary driver in my project is portability. It responds to this in two ways. First, the structure packs almost completely flat to the ground, which makes for easy and inexpensive transportation. Secondly, it's large range of flexibility reguarding protection from the sun allows the structure to be successful in many places.
Diagoon Houses Hermann Hertzberger
The primary driver in this project is a flexibility of use. Flexibility has been a large criticism in prefabricated structures, so Hertzberger came up with a housing solution that incorporated regularly arranged elements that create non-specific spaces. Hertberger considers it an "empty framework" for the owner to interpret and use in a way that best suits his individual needs.
