Project post

I used the views around the site as a way to drive my project. I thought that the site had a lot of potential and so I wanted to capture the various moments using a modular construction. I chose to use a 2 foot square cladding system that would allow for a flexible design that could respond to the two main mountain arrangements.

I thought that Buckminster Fuller's US-Pavilion at the World Expo in Montreal was interesting. Fuller used a double skin construction method. The inner layer was made up of a hexagonal arrangements and the outter layer is made up of triangles. The building is made of acrylic glass panels and rods. Fuller had a fascination with construction methods which often times drove his designs.
