The space I chose to analyze in terms of effects and affects is the LBJ Library. Major effects of this space are caused by the material choice of white stone. The effect of this choice is a towering structure that stands out against the blue sky and the shooting water of the tower out front. The affects elicited by this material choice are feelings of power and the majestic quality of the space.
An effect caused in the interior of the space is one of expansiveness. The repetition of the red volumes in the library along with the multi-storied room that is the great hall gives the space a meaning of importance, which as a presidential library, is something it should have. Affects of this space are ones of awe and impressiveness.
