please chose one of the following questions to respond to. for 'show' questions I'd like you to use photography to find examples around you, not precedents from the reading, though those can be a starting point.
1. using terms from the reading (effect, affect, ornament, tactility, etc), analyze the duck and the decorated shed from Learning from Las Vegas.
2. describe in words and pictures the effects and affects of a particular space of your choosing.
3. use photos to show examples of various types or ornament discussed in the reading: functional ornament, ornament demonstrating skill, ornament giving scale/texture, ornament amplifying presence, performative ornament.
4. define monocoque and semi-monocoque construction. discuss its relevance to the reading.
5. use photos to show examples of building components which 1 hide and 2 reveal A the process of their making (ornamental vs procedural effect), and B their materiality. you should come back with 4 photos: 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B.
