Pre-fabricated homes often carry the stigma of being 1) undesirable and 2) not architecture. What steps would we have to see for this perception to be changed and will it happen here in America?

  1. The stigma is rooted in history.Consumers of prefab architecture were known for being of lower classes even though now, that is not always the case. Like other products, there is always the pattern that trends move upward socially (like how thrift/vintage clothing shops now serve upscale areas).

Americans typically take pride in being unique and having things others do not have. So if this change does happen, it will take longer for the trend to manifest itself in the US than in other developed societies.
